Route Overview

The Northern Circuit is the longest route on Kilimanjaro and offers the highest summit success rate due to excellent acclimatization.

Duration: 9 Days / 8 Nights

Day 1: Arusha – Londorossi Gate – Mti Mkubwa Camp

Trek through rainforest to the first camp.

Day 2: Mti Mkubwa Camp – Shira 1 Camp

Ascend to the Shira Plateau.

Day 3: Shira 1 Camp – Shira 2 Camp

Cross the plateau with spectacular mountain views.

Day 4: Shira 2 Camp – Moir Hut

Trek across alpine terrain and enjoy acclimatization opportunities.

Day 5: Moir Hut – Buffalo Camp

Travel along the remote northern slopes of Kilimanjaro.

Day 6: Buffalo Camp – Third Cave Camp

Continue around the mountain with panoramic views.

Day 7: Third Cave Camp – School Hut

Reach School Hut and prepare for the summit attempt.

Day 8: School Hut – Uhuru Peak – Mweka Camp

Summit Africa’s highest peak and descend to Mweka Camp.

Day 9: Mweka Camp – Mweka Gate – Arusha

Complete the descent and return to Arusha.
